Has a well-meaning friend ever told you, “You look tired,” when you were completely well-rested? It is not exactly a compliment. A tired appearance is usually characterized by dark undereye circles, forehead wrinkles, drooping eyelids, and dull skin. If you’re tired of having that chronically tired look, you can rest easy with a few of these treatments offered at Dr. Lee’s practice.
Eyelid surgery
The eyelid lift is one of our most popular procedures. It can restore a bright-eyed, alert appearance to the Asian face. Upper eyelid surgery can create a natural-looking crease and remove any drooping upper eyelid skin that causes a tired-looking appearance. A lower eyelid lift can correct undereye bags and dark circles to keep your face looking youthful and refreshed.
Brow Lift
Sometimes drooping upper eyelid skin is the result of a sagging brow and forehead, which is often the case in patients over the age of 30. A brow lift can provide a more alert appearance by removing any excess skin in the forehead, which will also slightly lift the eyelid skin. Dr. Lee avoids an unwanted surprised appearance with a brow lift by lifting only the outer areas of the forehead above the eyes. This procedure, called the endoscopic brow lift, is performed by using small incisions inside the hairline with the aid of a TV camera.
Nonsurgical Treatments
Dull skin can definitely make a person appear worn and tired. Nonsurgical treatments that rejuvenate the skin’s appearance include laser resurfacing, chemical peels, and microdermabrasion. All three of these options will provide a healthy, youthful glow by removing the dull outer layer of skin to reveal the healthy skin beneath.
Patients can remove wrinkles temporarily with either BOTOX® Cosmetic or injectable fillers like Restylane®. BOTOX® will relax the forehead muscles so that wrinkles do not form in the area, while injectable fillers add youthful volume to minimize fine lines and wrinkles.
